“Bakcell Ltd” LLC took another step in its continuing change and development.  In April, 2007 Bakcell Ltd. organized an event dedicated to the opening of a new service center in Ganja. The event began with the Bakcell Service Center opening ceremony.

Mr. Richard Perks, Chief Operating Officer of Bakcell addressed representatives of local authorities, TV channels and mass media. Mr. Perks said the following:

“Ganja is Azerbaijan's second largest city. It lies on the ancient Silk Road that saw goods of the highest quality pass through it. Ganja helped with the trading of new technologies and beautiful products that directly improved people’s lives.

It is clear that Ganja and its surrounding areas are now developing and becoming more beautiful; the construction of new roads and buildings. The refurbishment programs that are underway, together with the recently opened new airport, all show a commitment to develop this area of Azerbaijan. Bakcell is very keen to be a part of that development.

So we stand here in front of our service center that is fully equipped with 6 service desks, and a waiting room that provides a comfortable environment for our customers. Where over 40 people are directly and indirectly employed by Bakcell to run and support this fine looking office. This Center is capable of serving 500 clients a day, with a complete, high quality service”.

Regarding future plans Mr. Perks said that with the opening of new Bakcell service center today, the Company marks the beginning of a new era in the level of service to the people and businesses in the region. Over the next few months everyone will see an improvement in Bakcell coverage and capacity. Also, throughout 2007 and beyond, Bakcell will further invest in the regions of Azerbaijan. New technologies, products and services will be delivered at a reasonable price along a new Technological Silk Road of communication infrastructure. This will definitely make a difference and improve the lives of the people in the Ganja and surrounding regions. 

Mr. Perks reported that the next regional service centers will be opened in Sumgait, Shaki-Zagatala and finally Lankaran –Astara regions.
