Bakcell, one of the leading mobile operators in Azerbaijan, was established in 1994 and became the first company to provide mobile communications services in the country. Bakcell is one of the biggest investors in Azerbaijan’s economy and has active Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program “‘Bakcell Stars” that supports children in need. In 2010 Bakcell was named “Technology Leader of the Year” and “CSR Leader of the Year” by the Azeri Business Award.

Extensive network coverage
With significant investments in 2008, 2009 and 2010 to provide customers with the best network experience, Bakcell now covers more than 99% of the population and 92% of the land area of the country (excluding occupied territories).The entire network has been upgraded to 3G – third generation technology to provide high speed Internet. Network investment will continue to deliver increasing coverage, provide even better customer care and the very latest new mobile data services.
Worldwide partner networks
Bakcell customers can use roaming services in Europe, Asia, North and South America, Australia and Africa – Bakcell has Voice and SMS roaming agreements with operators in 155 countries globally. Besides, Bakcell data roaming services cover 90 networks in more than 60 destinations.
