Bakcell – the First Mobile Operator and the Leading Mobile Internet provider of Azerbaijan, has conducted an “Introduction to mobile telecommunications” workshop for journalists. The purpose of the workshop was to raise awareness of journalists about information and communication technologies and mobile telecommunications in general, and cover such issues as the present and future of mobile telecommunications, the internet security, customer expectations from mobile operators and etc. At the event, which took place on November 28-29 at the «Shahdag Peak Palace» located in Gusar region, useful presentations made on such topics as the expectations of the subscriber from their mobile operator (by Chief Customer Care Officer of «Bakcell» Selda Korkmaz Bostanchioglu), the present and prospects for future development of mobile telecommunications (by the head of New Technologies and Quality Assurance Department Roman Ignatenko), the importance of value-added services, which are wide-spread in mobile communications (by the head of VAS unit Gurel Aktash), mobile signature and mobile applications (by the head of New Products Development unit Jalil Khalilov), and  the cyber hygiene (by the dean of the Faculty of Computer Engineering of “Caucasus” University Abzetdin Adamov). The participants have visited the area of hotel located on the territory of Shahdagh, where the in-building mobile communications equipment was installed by «Bakcell», and were informed about the operating principle of this equipment. Over the last years, such in-building solutions have been installed by «Bakcell» in large buildings located both in the capital and remote regions of the country. Also, during the seminar, the journalists were able to have a look at mobile (movable) base station, which was transported by «Bakcell» to Shahdagh. The company’s mobile base stations are transported on special vehicles, and can be installed at any location to provide high-quality mobile communication. “All topics covered during the workshop were selected on the basis of our analysis of daily press and in accordance with the most actual issues that are currently in the spotlight. It was very successful model and provoked keen interest among the journalists.
